Hi dolls!
I’ll make this quick – I saw many YouTubers test out the Revlon ColorStay 2-in-1 Foundation/Concealer product, especially because many of them raved about how wonderful it works for oily skin. Since I have oily skin, I wanted to try it out myself. I do like this product, but I don’t love it. I’ve been using this foundation for a while now because I wanted to really see if I liked it. I decided to try something different this time by testing out a foundation with my glasses. See how it turned out by reading my review below!
Overall Thoughts: I love that it does last all day without making me look greasy. It’s also lightweight and you can build up the foundation. Even though it doesn’t make me oily, I do feel extra oily. It works better if you don’t apply primer. It actually lasts longer without moisturizer or primer and you don’t get as greasy. The concealer isn’t that great. It’s actually pretty average.
I admit that when you have a blemish or dry patches of skin, this foundation does not work. I was having a bad skin care day (lucky for you to see the product in action though!) and I wasn’t impressed with how dry this foundation made my skin feel. Not only did it bring attention to my dry skin and pimple, but it also didn’t give me much coverage.
Buying tips: The foundation color looks darker than it actually is. So I would recommend picking the concealer shade closest to your skin tone. The product does oxidize, so I would also recommend going one shade lighter that way if it’s a little too light, you can totally add bronzer and contour to your makeup routine. I also think using a brush works better than a sponge applicator. Because the foundation dries extremely fast, the sponge doesn’t really work to blending the product out. The brush lets you buff in the foundation and you’re able to apply it evenly.
2 Hours after applying my makeup: My pimple was definitely dry and the makeup made things worse by actually highlighting that I have a huge planet on my chin. I don’t recommend using this foundation if your skin is dry or peeling. The rest of my face felt fine and looked great. I also love that I didn’t have glasses marks around my nose, which was a huge plus!
